It’s a short sail from downtown Seattle and for 35 relaxing minutes, everyone gets to knit or crochet. The views from the water are memorable, the ferry leaves every hour or so, and our shop is just a 10-minute stroll from the Bainbridge terminal.
You’ll find our shop in the center of the Bainbridge Island village on cozy Madrone Lane. Besides our secret yarn and free patterns, there are heaps of luscious yarns from Rowan, Shibui, Isager, Alchemy, Berroco and Brooklyn Tweed. You’ll also find yarns produced from local sheep and dyed with botanicals grown on Bainbridge Island!
We can’t tell you which yarns we picked to offer you at 10% off (five days only!), and there’s no way we’ll give you a clue right now about the two free Churchmouse patterns (knitting and crochet) designed especially for the LYS Tour. All will be revealed happily when you visit!
When you’re here, plan on a little time for some sustenance. Our yarn shop is in between the Blackbird Bakery (espresso and treats) and their sister eatery, Fork & Spoon (sandwiches and salads). Just up the Lane are Marche (French-inspired bistro) and the legendary Mora Iced Creamery, and J’aime Les Crepes. Also nearby are several watering holes that serve a decent cocktail.
Better yet, stay the night. Mention Churchmouse to local hoteliers and receive a very generous discount. For instance, drop our name at the Best Western Plus and they’ll honor a special rate of $109 per night even for two people.
