It’s no surprise that Stilly River Yarns found its space in a historic home in the heart of west Stanwood, Washington – we’re a fiber arts shop that thrives on our community of customers and that works hard to support the Stanwood-Camano area. We’re incredibly excited to be joining the LYS Tour in 2018!
We offer a full range of knitting and crochet supplies, along with a variety of handspinning equipment and small looms. Our selection of yarns includes products from Berroco Yarns, West Yorkshire Spinners, Imperial Ranch, and The Fiber Seed; our handspinning fiber selection is focused on locally-sourced and -dyed fibers. Spinning and weaving equipment from Schacht Spindle Company, Louët, and Akerworks will help you with stashing down or learning new skills. We’ve also got a great selection of handmade accessories and gift items that you won’t find anywhere else on the Tour.
Bring your lunch or dinner (or grab a bite at any one of the amazing local restaurants close to our shop – Shima Japanese Restaurant, Stanwood Café, or Taqueria Mi Cocina, just to name a few of our favorites), take a seat on the shop’s front porch, and enjoy a break from your Tour travels – we can’t wait to meet you!
If you’re coming into Stanwood via I-5/SR 532, you’ll find us by crossing town on SR 532; turn right at the light at 102nd Ave NW, and then turn right at 271st St. NW/Pearson St (the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank/Thrift Store will be on the corner on your left). Go about two blocks, and we’re on the left at the corner of 271st and 99th.
If you’re coming in on Pioneer Highway (the back way from Conway/La Conner), go about 5 miles south on Pioneer, and you’ll see a railroad crossing on the right – turn right and cross the railroad tracks, and you’re on Old Pacific Highway. Take Old Pacific Highway south for 1.5 miles – you’ll cross another set of railroad tracks and start to come through town. About 3 blocks through town, you’ll see 271st St. NW/Pearson Street as your cross street (a gravel parking lot will be ahead on the left, and the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank/Thrift Shop will be ahead on the right). Turn left on 271st/Pearson, and go about two blocks – we’re on the left at the corner of 271st and 99th.
We’re located in the olive green house with a big front porch and gorgeous garden. There’s a dedicated spot with a ramp in the parking lot that we share with Krista’s PetSpaw, and there’s more parking on the 99th Ave. (east side) of the building and on the street in front of the shop.
